The AoM team consists of a wonderful group of people. We all strive to remember names and faces, details of our client files, what's important and why, as well as the sometimes difficult life issues which impact our client's day to day activities. It starts with a pleasant voice on the other end of the line, a personal client meeting where we get to know each other, establishing a set of expectations, and friendly and professional service from all team members. We minimize the apprehension of meeting the accountant, and maximize the relationship aspect for our clients.

Judith Avery - Chartered Accountant

As well as a deep commitment to our clients, a commitment to the community is extremely important. Judith L. Avery is a director on the Georgetown BIA (Business Improvement Association) providing financial direction when required. Involved with the BIA strategic planning committee and the Red Grant application process to support and achieve the priorities raised by the strategic planning committee, Judith Avery consistently volunteers her time and services to these important venues. Also, she is involved with BIA beautification and maintenance committee helping to ensure the Downtown Georgetown area achieves its optimal face for all to view.

She has also volunteered her time to the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce Junior achievement program which provides real life exposure and experiences to young students from the aspect of careers and Budgetary Constraints. Read more about Judy.

 

Anita Valvasori – Chartered Accountant

Anita joins the AOM team following fifteen years spent in a Toronto-based public accounting firm. In addition to her extensive experience in audit for corporations and foundations, Anita brings her dedication to the highest standards of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
She shows the same commitment to understanding the unique needs of each client, and working with them to develop solutions to their personal and business accounting needs.

Anita graduated from the University of Waterloo Accounting Program and received her CA designation in 1999. She is a resident of Halton Hills and volunteers her time with local community organizations.

 

 

Sherilee Vorne – Staff Accountant

Sherilee graduated from Brock University in December, 2009 with her Bachelor of Accounting Co-op degree. She completed four co-op terms in the Woodstock and London area. Currently, she is working towards acquiring her CMA designation.

Sherilee finds enjoyment in helping first time business owners develop a plan for the future. Sherilee has developed business plans to help clients have a realistic view of how their company will compete in the market.

Sherilee joined the Accountants on Main team in January 2010. She has experienced the excitement of four tax seasons already. Working in an accounting firm allows her to become acquainted with many different businesses and develop insight into their clients' affairs.

 

 

 

Linda Doughty – Office Administration

Linda graduated from Sheridan College with a diploma in Legal Office Administration and spent the next eight years working in the Corporate/Taxation department of a large Toronto law firm.  In addition, she recently completed an extensive personal income tax preparation course to add to her skill set.

Marriage and family followed, and Linda channelled her energy into raising her children and volunteering in schools and community organizations. She participated in continuing education courses in advanced computer skills and creative writing.

She then found work in advertising, providing administrative and client services for a marketing and communications firm. When that firm downsized, she joined the team at Accountants on Main.

Linda enjoys the frequent client interaction involved in this position and takes pride in providing a high level of personalized service and care to our clients. 

Hillary Carney - Chartered Accountant

Hillary recently graduated with distinction from the Honours Business Administration Program at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. She completed her co-op certificate with three terms articling at KPMG in Waterloo as a staff accountant in assurance services. After a seven month trip to Australia she joined Accountant on Main in July, 2008 and has completed audits, compilations, reviews and tax returns for clients in the area.

Her previous work experience includes management and supervisory positions in retail and an office assistant position in a local consulting firm.

Hillary is a dedicated member of Delta Gamma Women’s Fraternity and has served a term as Director of Scholarship and two terms as VP: Finance for her chapter. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union as the first year representative.  Hillary has recently obtained her CA designation while articling at KPMG Waterloo. She has now returned to her roots at Accountants on Main.
